Zalemark Launches Collections in Vietnam

Vietnamese jewelry manufacturer, Phunhuan Jewelry Joinstock Company (PNJ) has agreed to distribute two divisions of Zalemark Inc., Demeter and Seventeen Jewelry Collection, in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

As part of the agreement, PNJ will host a boutique manufacturing facility inside its own factory to manufacture Zalemark products; some of the SKU’s will be re-designed to coincide with the Vietnamese culture.

Dubai gold conference to discuss unified marketing

The 5th Dubai City of Gold Conference will hold a panel discussion on the need for a unified jewellery marketing effort to increase global demand for jewellery, on April 22 at the Park Hyatt, Dubai.

"The global gems and jewellery industry has grown at a compound annual growth rate of 5.2 per cent since the year 2000, this is expected to see a slight slowdown in the coming years. A unified jewellery marketing effort by the industry can help to overcome this," said Tawhid Abdullah, the managing director of Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG), a trade body.

A GJEPC-KPMG report released in December 2006 had reached a similar conclusion.

Pakistan : Precious stones & jewelry export to reach $1.5bn by 2017

Reports revealed that currently export of precious stones and jewelry from Pakistan is worth $25 million. The Government is planning to touch $1.5 billion within next ten years.

For this the Planning Commission has granted a permission to set up a gems and jewelry company at a cost of Rs1.40 billion.

The company will provide training for jewelry and precious stones making and it would also conduct research on latest technology in this sector.

Italian luxury goods maker Bulgari targets China's growing market for luxe and opens an expanded store in Shanghai with a glittering display of vintage jewelry worn by Sophia Loren, other actresses and Alexander the Great.

A dazzling display of some of the world's most breathtaking and historic jewelry highlighted the grand opening of Italian luxury goods giant Bulgari's "twin," or expanded, store at the Shanghai fashion hub, Plaza 66.

Passionate Latin dance opened the Saturday night celebration, and a cocktail party drew celebrities in their most intriguing and fascinating outfits. However, neither the exotic deep V-neck one-piece uniform nor the Chanel extra-long boots or any other extravagant clothing could be more captivating than the treasure trove of jewelry on display.

In the plaza atrium in front of the store, three huge golden tents were gradually opened for the premiere exhibition of Bulgari's Vintage collections in China.
